Family Reunion Time

Buckle up, people!  I think there are almost 100 pictures overloading this post.  Even though we were only all together with Scott's family for two full days and 3 nights, we packed more in than I ever thought would be possible!

  • First up, was a cousin temple trip to the new Provo City Center temple (followed by a grown-up trip when the kids were done).

  • There was an outing to "The Slab," a pizza place in south-of-BYU-campus Provo.  Which was really good, until first Hannah and then Jane had an allergic reaction to some cross-contamination on their slabs of pizza.  Ruh roh.  {We think that the peanut sauce on the Thai pizza that both Scott and his dad ordered must have leeched onto the plain cheese slabs that were part of the same pie.}
  • The Provo Rec Center proved to be one of the best bangs for everyone's bucks after the pizza outing.  (Seriously -- only 4 bucks per person for an entire day's pass).  Things got off to a rocky start for OUR little family, though, as Jane threw up RIGHT as we were pulling up to the front of the center.  I barely got her out of the car in time before the spewing began.  What can I say?  We know how to make an entrance.  Hahahaha.  Thankfully, once she got the peanuts out of her system, she was good to go and ready to hit up the pool.

 {These are the after pictures.  :)  }

  • Isaac was in desperate need of a nap at this point, so while everyone else partied at the Rec Center, I drove around south-of-campus-Provo, passing by all my old apartments, reminiscing on times gone by, and giving the baby a chance to fall asleep and get a little cat nap.  And then I decided a trip to campus/the BYU bookstore without all the kids grabbing stuff would be the perfect way to spend the afternoon.  :)

  • Another highlight of our unofficially official family reunion, was a production of "Hercules" put on by all the younger cousins.  It was hilarious.  And amazing.  We're talking full-on cobbled costumes, scene changes, musical numbers, and tickets to see the show.  Perhaps the funniest line of all, though, was when Alex wryly observed, "this is weird," during the first darkened-theater-interlude between scenes.  Hahahaha.  Oh Alex.

The whole gang hanging before dinner one night.

And the final bow at the end.  (None of the pictures came out very well because of the lighting.)

  • Lots of hanging out was done. :)

  • We hiked the Y!  Which was a LOT steeper and more difficult than I remember it being back in the day.  Scott stayed home with our younger 3, but everyone else (except for Scott's parents) joined in the fun.

  • We hit up the BYU Games Center on campus for a little bowling and everyone had a blast.  Alex was oddly good at it.  Hahahaha.

  • Once the bowling was done, we had time to squeeze in a quick trip to the bookstore before we needed to get back home for dinner.  {Of course, one trip is never enough, and we ended up going back a couple different times before our trip was over.  Hahaha.  One can never get enough chocolate covered cinnamon bears.  ;)  }

Posing with Cosmo!

  • More hanging out was done, and a Movies 8 jaunt hit the spot for everyone.  For the record -- the new "Saturday's Warrior" was awesome and I loved it.  Cheesy?  Sure.  But it was so nostalgic to me because I loved the original one when I was a kid.

Scott's mom stayed home with Isaac who needed a nap.  :)

  • The BYU creamery was one of our last outings before everyone had to head out on Friday, the 8th.  I was super stoked to order PEPPERMINT ice cream in July!  SOOOO good.  It's my very favorite flavor, and it's usually only available seasonally around Christmas.

  • And finally, the easiest and most casual of family photos were taken on Thursday evening up at Bridal Veil Falls while everyone was still together.  As an added bonus, the kids got to climb on rocks and play in water to their heart's content.

Isaac was certainly a family favorite.  :)

And there you have it.  We had so much fun with all of Scott's family!!  And the fun just kept on rolling, because the next morning, we drove up to Salt Lake to spend the weekend with MY family.  (Or at least the family members who live in Utah).  Stay tuned for more road trip adventures!
