Day of Rest

 Our last day up in Salt Lake was a Sunday, and we used our day of rest to go to church in the morning and to visit Temple Square in the afternoon.  An added bonus was stopping by to visit some good family friends on our way back down to Orem.  {#Uptown Branch forever!}

The kids got the biggest kick out of the fact that Emily and company live close enough to WALK to church, and they all took off for church in a far more excited manner than they usually do.  Hahaha.  We survived the three hours, and then came home to enjoy a delicious lunch courtesy of the hostess with the most-est.  :)  While waiting for the food to be done, the kids entertained themselves with a scavenger hunt game that I found at Deseret Book a couple of days before, and then we gobbled lunch down before resting a bit and  heading off to Temple Square.

Laura and Everett joined up with us once we got to Temple Square, and we spent a nice hour or so strolling the beautiful grounds, seeing the exhibits in the Visitor's Center, and taking pictures in front of the temple.  Although I will say that the kids were kind of OVER taking pictures at this point.  Hahaha.

 Shoo Shoo fell asleep in the stroller while strolling around the grounds.

 Best group shot of the bunch.  And we didn't even attempt to do a full family one.

After saying a sad farewell to Emily, Jeremy and their kiddoes, we headed to South Jordan, where Freddie and Laura met up with us to visit the Claytons -- some of our very dear friends from the Uptown Branch in New Orleans.  John and Heidi were a young married couple in our Branch when I was a teenager, and they were just so great.  They were willing and happy to serve and help wherever they were needed, and they were always just so nice to us!  It was a treat to catch up with them, and my kids had fun hanging out with their kids, too.  :)

One last item of business for the day, was to snap a few pictures of the sugar baby to document his 8 month mark, before heading back home to Scott's parents house.  It is CRAZY to think that it's already been another whole month since these pictures were taken in July!!!  {Isaac turns 9 months tomorrow!}

{He's just too cute.  :)  }

I feel like this day marked the start of the downward slide towards the end of our vacation.  Kind of sad, but we still packed a TON into our last three days in Utah before we began our return trip home.  Fingers crossed I can finish recapping this vacation by the end of the week!  Hahahaha.  :)
