#tripofalifetime
We're back!!! After 17 days and over 4000 miles on the road, we are finally home from our epic, trip-of-a-lifetime, road trip! The full recap(s) will take some time to get rolling, but for now I'll answer the question on everyone's mind: Will we do it again? YES!!! Hahaha. I wasn't sure how things would pan out -- if the hype we put into it would fall flat or not -- but the trip went amazingly well, all things considered. In fact, I've already started brainstorming next summer's road trip covering the eastern part of the country! ;)
The trip was not without its lows, but the highs were high enough and outnumbered any problems we encountered along the way, so overall, we're calling this trip a win. For now, I need to get the baby to sleep {again}, but to close, I'll leave you with five fun facts from our adventures:
1.) Ethan found all but THREE license plates during our travels. {Alaska, Rhode Island, and Vermont -- which means that YES, we actually spotted a Hawaii plate!!}
2.) Grace was the baby whisperer for the majority of the trip, keeping the baby happy and plied with snacks for hours and hours of driving.
3.) One of the kids {other than the baby} was persuaded to use a diaper on two separate occasions to avoid having to make an extra bathroom stop on the road.
4.) Jane had a run-in with peanut sauce and cross-contamination at a Pizza Place while we were in Provo, and wound up emptying the contents of her stomach RIGHT as we pulled up to the Rec Center where we were going to do some swimming after lunch. {She put on quite the show right there on the sidewalk in front of the entrance.}
5.) Alex may or may not turn into a McDonald's chicken nugget after the number of times he's eaten there over the course of the last 2 weeks.
6.) {And yes, I'm throwing in an extra fact -- just count it as a little lagniappe.} Isaac turned 8 months old while we were in Utah and has rewarded my doting care with an inconsistently babbled "mama" for the last week. {Although, if we're being technical about it, it's more like a "mamamamama." And it's not usually directed specifically at me. ;) Hahahahaha.}
And that's all for tonight! Stay tuned for the REST of our adventures...
