District of Columbia

  We're finally at the end you guys!  Washington, D.C. was the last stop on our whirlwind East Coast road trip and to be quite honest with you -- it should have been it's own separate trip.  It was just too much to tack on the end.  It is what it is, however, and my only hope now is that D.C. hasn't been completely ruined for the kids and they'll want to go BACK someday to experience it all a little better.  Hahaha. Nevertheless, our FIRST stop was a hit.  The Spy Museum was at the top of everyone's list to experience, and while Scott took kids 1-5 to enjoy some espionage, I wisely took the sugar bear and browsed the book store/gift shop for a bit before strolling across the street to check out the National Portrait Gallery.  It was a win-win situation, because I'm pretty sure that no one else would have wanted to look at a bunch of art with me and I was fine taking one for the team and missing out on the Spies.  Hahaha.  Isaac was mostly coo...

Hershey Chocolate World

  At Hershey World, we did it ALL!  You name it -- we did it.  Create Your Own Candy Bar? 4D Chocolate Mystery?  Chocolate Tasting Experience? You got it!  Needless to say, the whole outing was a smashing success with the kids.  If you ask Alex and Jane, Hershey was their hands down favorite part of the whole road trip.  Hahaha. The 4D experience was pretty cool.  Alex and Jane LOVED it.  Isaac -- not so much.  Hahaha. Even though the majority of the activities cost cash money to enjoy, I thought it was well worth it for our vacation experience.  Would I ever do it again -- take the whole family and pay for every single extra add-on?  Probably not.  Or at least not anytime soon.  Hahaha.  Especially since the FREE portion of Hershey Chocolate World -- the Chocolate Tour -- was plenty fun and interesting on it's own.  But for a once-in-a-lifetime east coast road trip, it was the perfect way to enjoy the pit s...
